Remaining Value of running total

Hi all - From the below, I have a contract value that repeats for 1 contract which is its original vlaue. I want the "Column" to take the original Contract total minus the invoice amount to show as getting smaller and smaller after each invoice.

So the first line in the  "column" column would be $142,576 minus the $2,084.85 giving me the $140,491.15. Then the next line would start with the $140,491.15 and subtract the next invoice $3,817.44. Currently, it is just taking the Original contract amount, "Contract Total" and subtracting every invoice but not as a running total. This seems alot more complicated than originally though due to the amount of posts on this. Appreciate any help ASAP. Thank you!

hi - I just had to make a simple version of my secure data. As mentioned. I just want a column that takes the original contract amount (which is static) minus each invoice. But I want the contract amount to get smaller as each invoice is paid. So my first line should be $150,000 minus invoice 1 for 100,000. Than the next line would start with $100,000 and so on.

Hi Ibendlin- It looks like I cannot share because of the company protection on the file. The data I used is simple. The real source data is much more complex but the general gist is to have the contract amount decrease as invoice is paid in its own column. Thanks for trying.

You say you want the remaining invoice amount to decrease yet in your expected result it is increasing?

Hi - Yes sorry that was jsut for the example, So what I want it to do is have the invoice amount subtract from the contract amount. But I want the new value in the "amount remainging to start the next row. So create a running total only getting less in amount.

So I would have $150,000 - 50,000 and then have the next line start as $100,000 instead of 150,000 again then subtract that from the next invoice -50,000 and so on until there is not amoutn to be invoiced left.S So I would have a decreasing new contract amount.

Contract AMount New Contract Amountinvoice amountinvoice amoutn remaining
150,000 50,000100,000
 100,00050,00050,000
 50,00050,0000
