Relationship View Keeps resetting to a Star Schema layout

Has anyone else experienced a problem with the Relationship View automatically resetting itself to a Star Schema layout after you reorganize the view. This happens frequently, but I can't tell what triggers it. I'm trying to find out what can be done to prevent it. It did not seem to be a problem until some time between September and November.

For example, if I create a model with three lookup tables attached to one data table and set up the view to have all the lookup tables shown above and the data table below (i.e. the Collie method) and save the PBIX file, at some point when I reopen it, the relationship view will be reset to a Star Schema where all the lookup tables are clusterred around the data table on all four sides:

or from:

Lookup   Lookup  Lookup

           |        |         |

            Data Table

to:

                  Lookup

                       |

Lookup---Data Table----Lookup

This is really a pain when you have a complex model.

@Anonymous,

You may try deselecting File > Options and settings > Options > CURRENT FILE > Data Load > Relationships.

Thanks for the response. Apparantly I'm the only one who has this problem (go figure).

At any rate, in general I remove all relationship options under the Current file Data Load as, for the Models I generaly build, I want to set the relationships myself. However, it's possible that this could have gotten changed in switching from version to versoin of the monthly update, or from file to file. For now I'll accept this as a solution and see if I can be more aware if it happens again.

You are not the only person that has this problem, I have it too. The solution offered DOES NOT resolve the issue. I have turned off all of the autodetect settings, and it still rearragnes my model every time I add a new table. It is not fixed.

@AnonymousI  experience the same behaviour for what it's worth...Looks a real mess when I take a peek. I've given up trying to re-organise the table layout altogether. (unless I need to delve deeper into something)

Guys,

I followed the instruction to turn off all the ticks in the Options-Current File-Data Load-Relationships. But the relationship diagram in my PBI file still keeps shifting back to the star schema. I am so frustrated with this since I have to rearrange it back to a diagram that I can easily understand.  I am using the latest updated PBI. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks for help!
