Hello,
I have this data model pictured below. My issue is trying to figure out why my relationship between Academic Program and Graduation Retention can't be active.
Graduation Retention has a studentID and a programID
Success has a studentID and a programID
Academic Program are attributes for the programs and I want to join to both Graduation Retention and Success on ProgramID
Student are attributes for each student, and I want to join to both Graduation Retention and Success on StudentID
The error I'm getting when trying to make the final join active is I can't create the relationship because an active set of indirect relationshps already exists between these tables.
The attribute connections are joining in on different keys so I don't understand why there is an issu

@heidibb is It is ok to have an inactive relationship, you can have only one active relationship between tables, to use inactive relationship, use userelationship function in your measure expression

By the way, you may also apply virtual relationship in DAX function.

@heidibb because it is will create a circular relationship, if you follow the errors, this graduation table can filter thru another path from the academic table,

while i understand the circular relationship, I'm not sure what other path I can use to filter both connections (Success and Graduation Retention) if it's not joined to both.
