Relational Slicers

Hi guys,

In my report i have some slicers. Requirment is that when i select any value in one slicer, then all other slicers having related data to selection should get afested and display their data.

Explained with Screenshots below: Empty allEmpty all

On selecting a value in mgmt lvl 5

Hi @Anonymous

If the slicers are coming from the same dimension then it should happen by default, if that's not the case then you can create a measure like

filter = INT( NOT ISEMPTY( 'fact table' ) )

and use it as a visual filter where the condition is = 1

Best Regards,
Mariusz

@Mariusz  i have around 25-30 slicers in my page with small alignments placed side by side. Is there anyway to create a measure and apply to  all slicers.

Also i tried to contact you in Linkedin.

Hi @Anonymous

Well, the second option is what @adambhappy  suggested, but it's not the best option as suggested in the article below.

You can enable bi-direcational filtering between your fact and dimension tables, this will give the same result but there are drawbacks.

See: https://www.sqlbi.com/articles/bidirectional-relationships-and-ambiguity-in-dax/

Can you post a screenshot of your relationship view? Much easier to answer your question that way.

Hi @Anonymous

Columns coming from the same Table ( Dimension ), basically a lookup table with attributes for example ( city, state, country ) that is used to filter transaction table ( Facts ).
