Refreshing only the last 30 days of data during a scheduled refresh

Hello,

I'm looking to add a filter to the dataset, if at all possible to refresh just the last 30 days of data within a relatively large dataset that spands nearly 18 months.

Is this possible and if so, how would I go about designing this?

I do have both a time and date column within the query that I'm refreshing.

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous,

Do you mean the incremental refresh?

Best Regards,

Hi @v-jiascu-msft,

Yes I'm referring to the refreshing of the data, when it's on a schedule.

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous, What is your dataset? If it's SQL you can simply use GETDATE() in the WHERE clause of your query to control this. Otherwise you can use Power Query to create a parameter based on the current date and use that in a filter on your table.

Hi @Phil_Seamark,

The dataset is within an Azure SQL Data Warehouse view and I could add a where clause, but we'd like to control the criteria piece through Power BI so that we can have the flexibility to modify the criteria, without modifying the underlying query.

I like the idea of the Power Query and will explore that route.

Thank you
