Hello,
I use for a report the composite model. My data model is imported, but one table is changing often (every minute), so this table is in direct query mode.
If I change a random filter the direct query is executed, but I want to offer my users a button or horizontal filter that just says "Refresh". I don't want to tell them "you have to change a filter".
Do you know is this is possible? Or are there any work arounds?
Thank you and best regards

Hey @Anonymous ,
actually it should be possible since a while with the automatic page refresh. Check that out:
Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
A workaround would have been that here:

Any news here?
I need a refresh button to get DirectQuery data again and this should also be possible in the publish-to-web version (without being cached).

Hi @selimovd
Thanks for the infoj.
I also tested page refresh but it did not work in the publish to web version (at least without premium capacity).
Did you test it yourself?
The workaround is only for client side and we are showing the report to the public so this is not really a working solution as well.

Marcel
hi, @selimovd
After my research, I'm afraid it couldn't achieve in Power BI for now.
When you do a filter, the direct query is executed automatically.

For your requirement, you could post your new idea in Power BI ideas and make this feature coming sooner.
