Reference

What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking  references of table and make changes  in the reference table instead of orignal table

  • The primary reason for taking creating a reference table is when you have one source, but there can be multiple output tables. 
  • Reference tables will ensure any changes/updates in the source table will automatically be considered.
  • It potentially reduces the number of steps/repeated steps in a query.
  • Reference table does not add to the size of the data model. It is recommended to disable the loading of the Source table, if it is not required in the data model.
