Reading an online table

I am trying to grab the data from an online table linked below. I did not have any success with the 'Web' option in 'Get data'. You might have a better idea, please. If possible, please try it on your Power Bi desktop to see if you can import the data. Regards,

Hi @Alirezam

use the following link in your web source,

https://www2.electricityinfo.co.nz/download/prices?search_form[run_types][]=F&search_form[run_types]...

found when you right click on download button and and copy the link.

I hope that helps

Hi @Alirezam

For what it is worth, the table on that page is generated with JavaScript which is why you are having trouble grabbing it.

Your best option is to use the download link as suggested by @richbenmintz

Regards

Phil

Hi, @Alirezam

I have done test with the link you provided. I can't import data using it as well. Finally, I import data with the following link and keeping refresh. However, the connection is very unstable. Sometimes the connection fails. Considering the stability of the connection, you can take @richbenmintz 's method to download the csv file and connect  data source with Text/CSV.

This is the link I used to connect:

https://www2.electricityinfo.co.nz/prices#!#q.tp_roll_back=1&q.tp_roll_fwd=24&q.run_types_=F,A,I&q.m...

The result looks like this:

This is the pbix file.

Best Regards,

Caiyun Zheng

Hi @PhilipTreacy ,

I am not suggesting that you download as csv, I am sugessting that you use the download link as a web source.

Thanks

I hope this helps,
Richard

Hi @PhilipTreacy ,

All good, the response from @v-cazheng-msft , suggested using the link to download and import, just wanted to let @Alirezam know that it could be used as a web source

I hope this helps,
Richard
