Ranking

Hello,

I have 2 tables

  • Carrier group - gives me a carrier groups numbers and it ranks them by a changing measurement.
  • Carrier - Gives me each carrier and ranks them by the same changing measurement

The problem:

When I filter on a carrier group it shows their rank out of the list of carrier groups (this is great) but the carrier table then only ranks the carriers by the amount that are there, ex. if there are 3 carriers in a group their intial rankings lets say #5,#40, #50 then turn to 1-3. I would like their inital rankings to stay static. Any ideas?

Rank measures:2018-12-14 10_46_38-Window.jpg

Carrier  Rank = RANKX(ALL(Data[CARRIER_CODE]),'Period Dimmension'[Period Selection],,0)
Carrier Group Rank = RANKX(ALL(Data[Carrier Group]),[Period Selection],,0)

Hi @Anonymous

I think you need to avoid the filtering of the carrier group in the carrier rank. Try this:

Carrier  Rank =
RANKX (
    ALL ( Data[CARRIER_CODE], Data[Carrier Group] ),
    'Period Dimmension'[Period Selection],
    ,
    0
)

  Or in fact, if carrier group filters the carriers, as I guess it does, this should probably suffice:

Carrier  Rank =
RANKX (
    ALL ( Data[Carrier Group] ),
    'Period Dimmension'[Period Selection],
    ,
    0
)
