RLS not working in PBI service for a report that combines PBI datasets and local excel files

Hi

I have prepared a report which is getting data from excel files stored in my one drive and various PBI datasets that have been prepared by my company. I have also applied a RLS that is working fine when i am testing it in PBI desktop but i get errors for all my visuals when i am trying to test the roles with a different user ID in PBI service. Even for the visuals that do not have a RLS applied.

When i am using the same report without any connection to the company's PBI datasets the RLS is working fine.

Any idea what could be the issue?

Best Regards

Antonis

I did a bit more digging and saw the following note in the Power BI documentation

"The Test as role feature doesn't work for DirectQuery models with Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled"

which i assume explains the issue i am facing but it does not specify if the end user will be able to view the report without any issues.
