REST API Request

Before I upgraded to the newest version of power bi, September 2019 version, I have been able to pull data down from our companies third party program via a REST API where I post a json object to the url and the url gives back a json object which I can convert to a table in power bi. I used to authenticate my request with an API token given in the header of the request as the paramater #"Authorization" = "Bearer someapitoken". Now Power BI keeps asking me to edit my credentials instead of passing through the API token. When I try specifying it as a WEB Api in advanced options its spits back that the token has characters in it that aren't allowed. Luckily I had the installer for the previous version of Power BI still downloaded so I was able to revert it, but I feel like this might be a bug.

Hi rossData,

Did you mean that when you type authorization in web connector, it still jump to  credential page in new version desktop, but it won't jump in older version, right?

I think you need to check whether the permission has existed in older version, you could click Edit Queries->DataSource Settings->clear the permission of web, then re-connect to this web by passing Authorization in Advanced option to see whether it will jump to credential page in older version.

Best Regards,
Zoe Zhi
