RANKX based on another column in table

Hi Experts

I am trying to rank my date column Month Start date with the most current date as 1 so

1. 1/06/2019

2.1/5/2019

and so up to 1.7.2016 which should by index no. 36

cannot get this to work.

Index = RANKX(FILTER(PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS,PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS[FISCAL_MON_START_DT]=EARLIER(PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS[FISCAL_MON_START_DT
])),PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS[Month Start],,ASC,Dense)

Index = 
RANKX(
    PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS,
    PMS_FINANCIAL_PDS[Month Start],,,
    Dense
)
