The dataset looks as follows:
Type | Name | Value |
A | aa | 1 |
A | ZZ | 2 |
B | ZZ | 3 |
B | ab | 4 |
B | abb | 8 |
C | ZZ | 10 |
C | aca | 6 |
C | acb | 6 |
D | ad | 7 |
In the report, I have this kind of table and slicer for the TYPE column.
I want to create a measure, that will be used in the card visual. The measure should show the rank of the ZZ value (from the NAME column). The ranking should be based on the VALUE column - the higher the value, the higher the rank. e.g. if I filter TYPE= A, ZZ should be ranked first, given that in type=A, ZZ has the highest value assigned. In the same way, if filter TYPE=B, ZZ should rank third. Note that ZZ is not present in all types (e.g. D).
Any chance somebody knows the way to create such measure?

@Anonymous is this what you are looking for:
Add another measure to get Rank for ZZ
Rank for Z = CALCULATE ( MAXX ( Ran, [Rank] ), Ran[Name] = "ZZ" )

Hi @Anonymous ,
Try the following measure:
RANK =
MINX (
FILTER (
SELECTCOLUMNS (
ALLSELECTED ( 'Table' ),
"index",'Table'[Value],
"rank", RANKX ( ALLSELECTED ( 'Table' ), 'Table'[Value],, DESC, DENSE )
),
[index] = MAX ( 'Table'[Value])
),
[rank]
)
And final you will get the below:
Wish it is helpful for you!
Best Regards
Lucien

@Anonymous just add a measure for ranking and then you can visualize it the way you want:
Rank = RANKX ( ALLEXCEPT ( Ran, Ran[Type] ), CALCULATE ( MAX ( Ran[Value] ) ), , DESC )

Thanks for the answer. I have tried your suggestion and there is constantly one value - 1 - shown in the card visual. In your suggested formula syntax, where should I indicate that I am aiming for a rank of ZZ specifically, not something else?
