Hi All,
I want to use R for Power BI. Just wanted to check which one is better Microsoft R Open or R Studio ?
Is there any advantage considering Microsoft R Open is Microsoft's product and Power BI too.

Hi akj2784,
Microsoft R Open can’t be compared with R Studio directly because Microsoft R open is the enhanced distribution of R, not the IDE. Please refer to: Microsoft R Open .
Currently, power bi support external IDE like R Studio and Visual Studio 2015 with R Tools for Visual Studio. Please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-r-ide.
In addition, R Studio is a lightweight IDE compared with Visual Studio because Visual Studio also support other languages. So if you are only using R, R Studio is recommended.

So does PBI Desktop work with Visual Studio 2017? It does not seem to detect IDE on the R Scripting Option page.
These two .exe files do not work as "Other" when I click the up to the right arrow when editing a new R visualization:
R Tools for Visual Studio were just loaded.
