Questions related to R Visual

Hi All,

I have a questions related to R Visual in Power BI.

I have dataset as below

Category  Count

A               100000

B               200000

Internally the total count of records are 300000 in the database. But when I put it in table report , I see only 2 records as data is aggregated.

Now will power bi consider this as 2 records for R Visual or 300000 records ?

I mean will this scenario work using R visual ?

Regards,

Akash

Hey,

R will receive just 2 records, you can try to activate the "Don't summarize" on the column that gets counted, but currently there is limit of 150k rows that will be passed to the R scripting visual.

Can you describe what your R visual should look like and what gets counted, you may also consider to prepare a pbix file that contains sample data, upload the file to onedrive and dropbox and share the link.

I guess this link will provide additional information:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-r-visuals

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom,

Basically I am creating Waterfall Chart using R. The reason I am doing is default waterfall chart doesnt have option to remove the total bar. And there is another custom visual for Waterfall chart, that needs license.

Hence I thought to implement it using R wherein I have flexibility to even create Stacked Waterfall chart.

So at any point in time, I will not have more than 10 records in the dataset.

Akash

Hey,

wondering if your initial query can be considered as answered?

Tom
