Hi,
My data model has 2 tables, and both tables are imported into PowerBI Desktop by Import mode.
The 1st table is working fine with pre-defined synonyms, but the 2nd table is not working because the Synonyms box has grayed out and deactivated by default so I am not able to setup the synonyms for this table.
Tried to google a solution by myself but no luck.....anyone knows how to get this sorted?
Thanks.
Best regards,
Emily

@Anonymous , That seems strange. I tested locally I am able to see this for the tables I have.
Check does this column has the same name as another column in another table.
check if any power query changes are pending or there is an error in the steps there.
Also, make sure you are on the latest version of power bi.
And why there is a message update now ?

Thanks for your quick feedback.
I've checked my table setting in PowerQuery and I did one step in there before to "Rename Column". Therefore I removed the "Rename Column" step in PowerQuery and it works perfectly. I guess PowerBI doesn't allow users to add Synonyms if the column name has changed to something else in PowerQuery instead of the original one. The workaround here is NOT to change the column name in PowerQuery.....but I think this is something that can be enhanced by Microsoft in future.
Regarding the update message, it's just the default option to update to the new modelling interface.
Anyway thanks for your help and have a good day!
Best regards,
Emily
