Publishing Connections without Data

There was a decision to move to using a refreshed data set, rather than direct query, due to the time it takes to load data. However, the dataset exceeds the size restrictions. Is there a way for me to import the connections without the data so that the gateway can retrieve the information from the associated API's and cloud xls files?

Hi danielmcgary,

I didn’t find the office documents about “powrbi API to get data from other datasource”. So  I think your requirement couldn’t be achieved currently. I suggest you could post this requirement on power-bi-ideas. By the way, for data size limit , another workaround is that you could purchase premium . You could refer to Power BI Premium for details

Best Regards,

Zoe Zhi
