Hi
I have had some issues with a model where I needed to add a table to a direct query.
As I can't change the source data I needed to do this in Power BI, but as I need the model to be live I needed it to be direct query and therefore I couldn't add a table.
And then I found Composite Models 🙂
I switched it on, added my table and it all worked perfectly 🙂
Until I had completed first stage of the model and needed to publish......
Then I was met with the error "Publishing is Disabled. The file can't be published to the Power BI service yet becasue it includes the following preview features: Composite models"
It says yet.
Does that mean that this will be activated?
Since the feature is new is the full functionality yet to come?
Or is there a way to activate publishing for composite models?
Solved! Go to Solution.
It looks like this may be enabled in the cloud service with the October update, based on the roadmap update from last month's Business Applications summit:
I have a similar issue, however it doesn't go away even though I go back to import table... Have opened a support ticket, but according to the developers of composite for power bi service the error is not on their side. Will update here once I get more details.
Otravers's solution was good for me !
Thank you !

Yep, it's bit annonying though if many-to-many is easiest way to make the relations. Hopefully composite models will be avalaible in October release, as they promised.
Thank you very much otravers.
I was hoping for September, but October will do 😉
I have made a light version of my model that will work with Import, and I will keep my master version as Composite so it'll be ready when the feature is live.
So management will have to make due with a light version until October.
