Publish from Desktop larger files

Hi all,

I am trying to publish a pbix to the Power Bi serivce using the publish button in desktop. The file is 255,005KB in size. It does not error nor does it publish. Sometimes the "Publishing to Power Bi" splash screen will disappear is a few minutes to an hour or sometimes it does not clear after running all night. Eventually it will disappear but the file is not published and the log does not show any error. I can publish much smaller files with in a few minutes with no problems. How can I troubleshoot this?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Were you able to upload this .pbix file directly from Power BI Service via "Get data-> Files"? If yes, please reinstall Power BI desktop with the latest release for a test .

Thank you - That is exactly what I did. I had already upgraded to the most current version of Power Bi did which not make a difference. Uploading directly with Get-Data did work.
