Problems getting data from the Power BI Service connection

Hi, I'm having problems with the new Get Data > Power BI service connection.

Firstly, whenever I choose the connection, I see no data sources at all (although I do see my workspaces) - I have to select "Switch Account" and sign in again - this will then show me my data sources (not overly problematic).

However, if I then select a data source and choose "Load", after some thinking time I receive the error "Unexpected Error: couldn't load the model schema" and I have a permanently spinning wheel in my fields list. If I right click in fields, I receive a second error: "Unexpected Error: an error occurred while rendering the report".

Curiously, Power BI Desktop says "Connected to Power BI dataset" in the bottom right corner, but no fields ever present themselves.

Any thoughts on how I might be able to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

I have the exact same issue, both when trying to connect to a datamodel in my personal workspace as well as when trying to connect to a model in my group workspace. I'm a Pro user running the april version of Power BI desktop ( 2.45.4704.442 64-bit ).

I have tested it on my local environment, we cannot reproduce this issue. Are you a pro user or free user? Please ensure that you used the same user on Power BI services and Power BI desktop. Then which type of datasource did you connected? Please provide us more detail information so that we can try to reproduce this issue and make further analysis.

For me, I am a Pro User and connecting via web data source (wiki).  I have also tried SharePoint Online data source with the same error.  Here is the trace I ran with the error that was thrown:

Hi,

I'm a pro user and am definitely using the same user details!

The datasource I'm struggling with is the new one in beta, to connect PowerBI Desktop to the PowerBI Service. In our PowerBI Service we have a shared dataset in a group (that I have edit rights to) that I would like to connect to and make reports on, but when trying to connect to this I receive the errors I originally raised.

I have the same issue.  I wonder if it's related to using a Dataset that was created prior to the April update.

I just ran a test to create a new Dataset with data from a Wiki web source and receive the same error when trying to connect to the Power BI Service in a new pbix file.
