Hi,
When using a matrix visualisation, if you add a text field, generally it will show as the "first" item (rather than being a sum/average etc of a number field).
Say there are 4 rows, each with different text values, at the grouping level it will show the first of the text values. In reality you don't need to see anything summarised for the text field, so it would be good if you can switch off the summary for those fields.
The only workaround I have found is to use field formatting and set the font colour to the same as the background colour and then apply it to subtotals and totals to make them disappear. This however prevents you from doing any other field formatting on the values, and so it is really not a great workaround.
I've looked everywhere and can't see any way to do this....any ideas?
Regards, David
Hi,
Could you show a sample? What result are you expecting?
Hi Ashish - sure. In my example, you can see the "First Type" being shown at each of the grouping levels.
This is irrelevant and will confuse viewers. I want to be able to prevent this from showing at the grouping levels. I've already got the field formatted as Text and "Don't Summarize".
Thanks
Thanks Ashish, however I don't want to use the 'Type' field to group as Columns. I just want to see the value of Type on each row but not have it summarised at the Row grouping levels. Do you know what I mean?
