when creating a Direct Query dashboard I need to connect to big a complicated SQL query that will be filtered (by defenition) by the user. the SQL Statment disent load, I get a timeout - why does it run the full query?
again- the query is complicated and huge, but when the user will filter it (WHERE statment will be added by PowerBI) it will reduce to very small result.
Is there a way to prevent PoerBI with running the full query when I load the SQL statment to the dashboard?
