PowerBI rest api to jira - gateway time-out

Hi ALL,

I have connected powerbi by rest api to jira. So far it was working fine (both desktop and server), but for few days I have an error:

An error occurred in the ‘FetchPage’ query. DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://jira....'  (504): Gateway Time-out

On this computer I can conect to jira by browser, but my connection doesnt work.

Anyone can help?
thanks!

I solved the problem with restart whole server on which powerbi desktop and powerbi service is working and update all data source settings. All work good for now.

Hi,

I'm working on a project in PBI, where I used to connect Jira with Power BI and successfully get the relevant data by using a code provided in this thread. Jira & Power BI.

But when I uploaded the report to the Power BI server and got an error while trying to make an auto-refresh. "This dataset includes a dynamic data source. Since dynamic data sources aren't refreshed in the Power BI service, this dataset won't be refreshed. Learn more: https://aka.ms/dynamic-data-sources. Data source for Query1"

Can you please guide me on this topic, how to set auto-refresh for data Query?

I appreciate your support.

Regards,

Ahsan

I just encounted this with Jira online. The issue was caused by Atlassian fixing a licensing issue. When they did so it broke something. I could create a new connection to the service using the connector and existing config but all existing ones failed.

Solution:

  1. Create new Jira API Token.
  2. Clear Power BI cache.
  3. Clear permissions for connection.
  4. Add credentials (basic) back to connection.
  5. Test.
