PowerBI filename and path

Hi - I have a number of client folders each containing a pbix file. The pbix is in turn linked to a data source file (.xlsx) located in the same folder as the pbix. All pbix files are identical and the source files are also of identical format.

Currently when I set up a new client folder I have to open the pbix and update a parameter so that it pulls in data into the current folder. This works but is manual and therefore not ideal.

Is there a way my pbix can identify its own path/location? then I can just set up the data source in the pbix to be /localfolder/standarddatafile.xlsx

(I know Excel has a simple VBA function that does this i.e. SourceFilename = ThisWorkbook.FullName. So maybe not a stretch of the imagination for PowerBI to do the same)

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

@MarcosT100  I don';t think there is anything like excel but please add this as an idea, hopefully there will be enough votes so that we can have this feature some point of time.

Hi and thanks for your reply

There is a similar idea floating around at https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/9665565-support-relative-path-to-...

I have voted for it so maybe it will happen in the future at some point
