Hi, I am trying to get the January 2020 PBI updated features. It used to be that there would be a pop-up message in the lower right corner of screen when you first launch PBI Desktop that would prompt you to install the latest updates. I don't see that anymore, so last few times (months) I would just uninstall existing PBI Desktop and then install the latest version. However, WEIRD thing is, I cannot uninstall it this time - I went to Control Panel, Programs and Features, and I could not find the PowerBI Desktop application to uninstall! I sorted the list alphabetically, then I looked under "M" (for Microsoft PowerBI Desktop), then under "P" (for PowerBI Desktop), then everywhere else - nothing. When I simply try to install the program, it doesn't let me because it says I already have it installed, yet it is not in list of installed programs. So, I am basically blocked from having the January 2020 version. Anyone ever had this happen before? Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous ,
It is a little strange, I test this and I could find it in control pane
In addition, I think you could install it directly, and I think it will cover the origianl version. When you install, you need to make sure the powerbi desktop didn't run (it might will run in the background, you could use task manager to close it). Or you also could refer to I can´t update power bi desktop for details.

There is no January 2020 version, so you will not receive an update available message if you've upgraded to December in the past.
It sounds like you're not using the Microsoft Store to stay on the latest version, but both that and the manual install should appear under Programs. I've never seen either one go missing before.
