PowerBI-Exchange

Hello everyone,

I am currently engaged in developing dashboards in PowerBI and I have access(SQL database) to SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM, Active Directory, so I want to know if there is a way of getting data of exchange through these above and what all KPIs I can cover which may help me in developing reports for Exchange too.

Thanks in Advance(y)!

Hi @Anonymous,

1. There is a AD connector. You can give it a try.

2. Can you try an Administrative account of Exchange? Please refer to https://technet.microsoft.com and how-can-we-set-admin-rights-to-access-all-user-mailboxes-in-imap-server-exchange

3. Can you please try this tool? Please refer to Exchange-Server-Mailbox

Hi @Anonymous,

There are two build-in connectors that you can use to retrieve data from Exchange. The second approach could be connecting to the database directly, which could be complicated.

Hi! @v-jiascu-msft

Thanks for your answer. These connectors would only give me access to my mailbox. Instead, I need to build reports for organisation's mailbox. And I don't even have access to exchange server. My question is if I could get any informaation about exchange mailbox through SCOM or AD?

Examples of KPIs I need to cover are:

1) Count of mails sent per hour;

2) Count of mails sent and recieved by a single person in a day,etc.

Thanks again!
