We have an HTTP proxy in our network. How can we get the PowerBI Desktop tool working with an HTTP proxy?
Does Power BI Desktop Tool support authenticated proxies?
We tried setting the ‘UseDefaultCredentialsForProxy’ registry key as recommended at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-troubleshooting-sign-in#using-default-system-crede... , but it doesn’t look like it is picking up the proxy details from Internet Explorer settings. I have verified that Internet Explorer is set to automatically detect proxy and it is detecting proxy, but when I try to sign in at Power BI tool, it says ‘Unable to signin – Sign in failed because your network requires proxy authentication..” The same message you see in the troubleshooting URL pasted above.
Our proxy servers are not even getting the requests from Power BI Desktop tool, which means Power BI is not detecting the proxy server.
HI @Anonymous,
Nope, current power bi does not support proxy which required to send authorization credentials on httprequests.
Please use the global proxy to manage all HTTP requests and redirect power bi requests.
Regards,
Xiaoxin Sheng
What do you mean by global proxy?
