Hello,
As part of the upgrade of the powerbi desktop client on all our workstations (upgrade to August 2022 release), we have observed that some users receive an error message related to the proxy when launching powerbi desktop.
This popup is , for us , irrelevant as there are no problems with the proxy.
When the user do the sign in, create report, publish etc ... no problem
We are all using the same proxy and we do not understand the root-cause of this pop-up.
(on the 10 devices where it's deployed, 3 receive the popup each time we launch the pbidesktop)
Could you help us?

Finally we were able to identify and correct this error, which does not appear systematically on all workstations.
The problem comes from a residual that remains from a previous installation and that conflicts with the new version of powerbi desktop.
The tool integrated in Power BI Desktop in charge of the upgrade does not take into account some files already present in the user profile. To correct this problem you need to do a clean installation, meaning delete the folder C:\Users\userid\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop

Hi @Wolfiz ,
Have you ever tried to updated the desktop to the latest version or rollback to an earlier version? Will this happen again?
If you want to generate a log, you could go to File—>Option and Settings—>Options—>Diagnostics—>tick the Enable tracing —> Open traces folder, then you will find the Power BI log files.
For about how to analysis the logs, you could refer to this post.

Hi @Wolfiz ,
The following exceptions in Power BI Desktop trace files are associated with this error:
When this error occurs, the most likely reason is that a proxy authentication server on your network is blocking the web requests issued by Power BI Desktop.
If your network uses a proxy authentication server, your administrator can fix this issue by adding the following domains to the allowlist on the proxy authentication server:
