Hi @HlaSoe ,

According to your description, do you mean the Power BI Desktop client will crash when you open a .PBIX file? I think we can think about it in three directions: Power BI Desktop client, .PBIX file or program running environment.

1.Power BI Desktop client

Does your Power BI Desktop client crash when it opens all files, or is it only for individual files?

If it's the former, it may be a software version problem. Please install it to the latest version and try again. If you still can't solve the problem, please see the third item;

If it's the latter, please see the second item.

2.PBIX file

How do you open your .PBIX file? Is double click file to open or using ‘File -> Open’ in Power BI Desktop? Maybe you can find your issue after trying the both ways.

Generally, if the file is damaged, the Power BI Desktop will report an error when you connect.

3.program running environment

When there is a problem with the program running environment, the program may crash, such as:

  • Too much cache garbage

Usually in the process of using the software, some garbage files will be generated. If the equipment is not cleaned for a long time, it will become more and more stuck, and crash will also occur.

  • System incompatibility

Power BI Desktop needs Windows 10 operation system, you can find system requirements in Microsoft Store:

从5.PNG

  • System processes are uninstalled, deactivated, or lost

Some software depends on the support of the system process to run normally. When the system process is lost, most applications may crash.

  • System storage space is seriously insufficient

Some applications need to read and write data constantly to occupy the system storage space. When the system space is seriously insufficient, it may crash.

In addition, you can refer to this article again: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-get-the-desktop

@HlaSoe

Can you open any other PBI file other than the file you are trying to? If you cannot open any other PBI files, please try to reinstall or update the Power BI Desktop.
