Hi @abc_777 ,

ALLUREAN 's blog is incomplete. You need to hide all your pages and set your blank botton as "Page Navigation" in Botton Action.

For reference: Page-Level Security workaround in Power BI

My Test:

1.png

All sets are configured and By default:

1.png

User1 could only see the navigation for Page1 and Page 3.

2.png

Select Page1 and Ctrl +left Click. We will be navigated to Page1

3.png

If your user still could see all navigation, please check whether their roles in workspace has build permission. If they have build permission, RLS won't work.

For reference: Using RLS with workspaces in Power BI

my appology. its not table. it should be report sheet that i have created in power desktop.

i want to share per user as per require sheet then on that sheet i want to make RLS

for example:

a user1 can see quantity which is in my power bi report sheet 1 and then that user can see north side there i can use RLS

another user2 need to see sales (amount ) which is in my power bi report sheet 2 and then that user can see south side see sales (amount ) there i can use RLS

so user 1 can not see sheet 2 and user 2 can not see sheet 1

so please help me out

Hi, @abc_777

Check this article https://www.solution-tailor.com/post/powerbi-tab-level-security

At the end it is suggested that you can combine this approach with your existing RLS. I think you can set a RLS filter to NORTH/SOUTH to the pages.

@v-rzhou-msft ,

thank you, great help. Lastly, it's working. Thanks, rico.

I can now give a page-level filter to the user and can also by-product zone so he can only see that page and zone. thanks

Hi Rico,

would please tell me what exactly will happen when I publish your power bi desktop to power bi service and log in as user1@xxx.com, for example, should user1@xxx.com see only Home, Page1 and Page 3 or he can see all list of pages but can't access them except Home, Page1 and Page 3

I have uploaded your file to power bi service to a (view only) user and then see the home page but when click the button they do not taking me to that selected page. moreover, there is an edit button on top of the power bi service page, when click edit all my sheet are showing to the user

Hi @abc_777 ,

As I mentioned before, we need to hide other pages exclude Home Page. Here I add a Back button in other pages.

user1@xxx.com is the sample userprincipalname. When  user1@xxx.com login in Power BI Service and he could only see  Home, Page1 and Page 3 in Home page, he can select the Page he want to see in slicer and then click the Navigation button to link the page. Here I change these sample name to real Power BI account and have a test.

1.png

After we do all steps as the blog, we can publish the report to Power BI Service. Here I add three users into Roles in Dataset Security.

1.png

Stephen and Admin are viewer in workspace.

1.png

View as Admin.

1.png

View as Stephen

2.png

They can only Click above button to the link page and go back to home page by back button.

You can change the userprincipalname in user table as your end users' and have a try.

yes, thats right. I dont want user to see my table. I have tried many ways but filtering that i have created on row level secrurity is working but all my tables are showing to users and user can see report as well by clicking

In your case maybe you can try using OLS (Object Level Security) to hide the table. You need to download (if not having it) Tabular Editor to achieve OLS.
