Power BI desktop slow startup without taking resources

Hi all. First time posting here. 

Power BI desktop I have on my laptop (Surface Pro 8 )is having an exteremely slow startup (4.5 minutes) without using much CPU (0.1-2% CPU usage until it loads). It takes up about 550 MB memory, which is not unusual. 

I recently discovered this symptom after some recent updates. I first thought it was frozen - only Power BI logo is visible with two windows (one with logo and the other with blank page) open in the taskbar. This symptom is persistent regardless what I do - I even re-installed Windows 11 to see if it fixes the issue. Overall, the performance is alright once it loads. 

Another peculiar thing is that if I open Power BI desktop immediately after I restarted Windows, it loads lighting fast - without keeping me waiting. The performance is also the same. Yet, if I open Power BI desktop again, the problem persists (the old PBI desktop window - I cannot save while the other application is being loaded). 

I am wondering if there are other people who are experiencing a similar issue. I googled the whole day but couldn't find a similar thread on this issue.

Hi @chaniljung ,

First of all, please upgrade to the latest version, uncheck some of the preloaded content in the data source setting, then restart powerbi destkop and observe if there is a significant speed improvement.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
