Power BI dataverse attachments use

I have a table in dataverse, which is populated from a powerapp. The app takes a camera photo(s) and I capture the geo location via the powerapp location function. The lat/long are in columns. The photos are saved as attachments.

In the powerapp I can call up the attachments and show them in a gallery as images without issue, however as the attachments are not shown in an "attachments" column like Sharepoint does, when I connect the table to power bi, there is no ability to utilise the images in a visual/report.

I am looking for a way to return the images to the power bi desktop so that they could be used. As they are available to retrieve in an app gallery, both as a "title" image using first() function and also as a gallery of images, it seems odd that a similar embedding of a gallery does not seem possible in power bi desktop.

I understand that you can import an image via url as a "static" image such as a company logo, and perhaps this is where the opportunity lies with dynamic url generation?

Has anyone overcome this?

Hi @Tony_Kuiper ,

As far as I know, Power BI doesn't support us to import data which are Image or File type from dataverse.

For reference:Unsupported data types and fields

Unsupported data types and fields

The following data types aren't currently supported for import or export.

  • Timezone
  • Choices (multiselect)
  • Image
  • File

I suggest you to get image from URL.

Your demand is a good idea, while it is not supported to implement in Power BI currently.
You can submit a new idea to improve the Power BI.
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
