Hi,
when I import my excel table to Power BI, it imports some coloumns labelled as numbers as numbers. However, there are two important coloumns it imports as general (i hope thats the right name, I mena the symbol with numbers and the ABC on it). When I try to convert to decimal number using the power query it produces mostly errors. Does any one have a solution for this?

Then probably your data is not consistant.
Perhaps the first part looks like decimal numbers, but there are texts in there as well.
Sharing (a screenshot of) the error would help.
In data view, when you click on the down arrow on the column name, it shows distinct values(Not all), Just see if find something which is not number.
In case you have imported csv, there can be issues because , misplacement

Thanks. As soon as you mentioned it, I realized that I had "'-" for missing values. Changing that did the trick 🙂
