Power BI connection to Azure Sql takes long time

Hi,

I am running into an issue while creating a power bi report. My data source is Azure SQL. While creating a connection, I am seeing the load time is super slow.

 

Even with a query like "Select count(*) from [mydb]", it takes like 1-2 mins sometimes. The same query in the actual db takes like 1ms. The table itself has ~1500 rows. I am not sure what's going on.

 

Can someone help with this?

hi, @agenthunt

Since your datasource has only  ~1500 rows, It could be a network or server problem or hardware performance issues.

You may try to have a test it on another computer or another network environment.
