Power BI and CRM

Hi everyone! At my company, we are creating a new data model and we imported it into a PBIX file but hit the file size limit of 1GB so we are going to create a SSAS Tabular cube instead and connect to it DirectQuery instead. I am assigned to a new project now where we are going to analyze e-mail data from our CRM system. What i would like to know is sort of best practises for creating this report.

I will need to model the data and transform it with Power Query and create some DAX calculations. At the moment i am connecting to CRM Online from the Power BI Desktop. When i am done with the modeling i will upload it to the PBI Service and it will be refreshed since the data is from the CRM service. My question is this.. The data in the report will become huge very fast and will i hit the file size limit if i download the data again to PBI Dekstop if i would need to modify the data? Is there a better way to create this report/dashboard?

Many thanks,

Robert

Hi @Robertangi,

Per my understanding, no matter how you load data into Power BI desktop, when you publish a pbix file over 1GB to Power BI Service, you will get a file size limit message.
