Hello,
I am having trouble with the Power BI Template. I thought the point of the Template was having any new files that you upload into the Template perform the same calculations that were in the original document? Although the Template I saved has a lot lower storage memory, when I open it, it immediately loads the old data sets saved into the original document.
I am trying to upload a new excel CSV file into Power BI, but I want the same calculations and additional columns automatically added to this new excel data set that were already performed on the original that is already loaded in -- how can i do this? Currently, uploading a new document into the template just uploads the new excel file and doesn't automatiaclly do any sort of data manipulations. There must be some way to have your calculations automatiaclly performed on a new, but equivalently formatted file.
Thanks!

Hi @acbox12,
To make the Power BI Template apply to multiple data sources, you need to configure query parameter when creating template. Then, export it to Template file (.ppit). When you open it next time, you should enter the parameter value to specify which data source to connect to, so that the report will show corresponding data.
