Power BI Service Live Connection

Dear Team,

I am changing the connection from Import to Power BI Service but it is showing the error message that this option is disabled. Below is the screenshot of the issue -

I am using 2.51.4885.543 64-bit (October 2017) version.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Deepak

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi,

This is not a bug but a limitation of the current version of Power BI Desktop.

If you want to analyse data coming from Power BI Service, then this will be the only source of your Power BI Desktop Model. You cannot combine it to Excel, CSV or any imported data sources.

I get the same message when trying to Get-ing the PowerBI Service dataset.  How does my co-worker add a specific table from my published dataset in there existing PowerBI Desktop app (that has other connections also)?
