Power BI Report from SharePoint List that indicates highest application

Can I create a report from a SharePoint list that indicates who applies for the most Annual Leave, Sick Leave etc? Something like if the manager clicks any of the Leave Types then the employees who apply the most will be displayed or he can see the number or leave applied by each employee listed by Leave Type. Is it possible to do this in Power BI?

Thank you.

Hey @anonymous2 ,

sure this is possible, as a SharePoint List is one of the many data sources that can be used with Power BI to create an analytical report.

I recommend you start here: Consume data with Power BI - Learn | Microsoft Docs

This article describes how you connect Power BI Desktop to a SharePoint List using Power Query: Create a report on a SharePoint List in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

As a Power BI data model is the very foundation of the analytical application I also recommend this learning module: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/paths/model-power-bi/?WT.mc_id=DP-MVP-5003068

Hopefully, this gets you started.

Regards,

Tom

@TomMartens I haven't tried to do it yet as of now, I'm only collecting information. As soon as I try it and it helps me then I will accept the solution.

Thank you.
