Power BI Publishing not working

Hello, I am using Power BI Desktop as a Pro trial user, for unknown reason I cannot create a regular support ticket via the website, that is why I am posting my problem in the forum.

Creating PBIX files with Power BI Desktop is no problem, untill I want to publish via the button.

If I do, I get a popup with this information:

An error occured while attempting to publish.

Publishing failed for an unknow reason.

Next, I tried to import the PBIX via the Power BI Service.

There I get a more detailed error:

Message:

We couldn't import data from Power BI Desktop File

Thanks for your help or advice how to contact a specialist at Microsoft.

For me, the issue was solved after contacting Office 365 support.

Do not know what was done, but for now it is working again for me.

Hi

I have the exact same issue. Been having this for the last 2 weeks or so.

Any updates on how to solve this?

For me, there is still a problem as I cannot publish anything.

I have raised a support ticket with Microsoft Office 365 and am still in contact with support.

Will update once it is solved.

Hi @nijos,

1. Which Power BI desktop version did you run? Have you tried the latest desktop version 2.64.5285.741 released on 11/20/2018.

2. Which data source did that .pbix connect to?

3.Please use the Fiddler to capture trace and share the .saz file here.

Regards,

Frank

Hi Frank, thank you for looking into the issue with me.

1)

Version: 2.64.5285.741 64-bit (November 2018) from the Microsoft app store.

2)

I use local Excel files and manually created tables.

3)

Message in Power BI Service when uploading a .pbix with a simple manual table and one simple visual.

We couldn't import data from Power BI Desktop File

Looking forward to your analysis.

Hi @nijos,

There is an known issue about publishing pbix to service has been fixed today.

“Large blob upload is failing for the customers who are getting mapped to additional powerbiv2 storage account. Issues started happening due to a recent change which went to prod with 11.1 train. Some customers attempting to upload Pbix files larger than 1GB will encounter error. Approx 50% of customers who are using large blob uploads (>1GB)”

Could you please try to publish the pbix again?

Regards,

Frank

Hi @nijos,

This might sound very basic thing but just to confirm. Have you tried publishsing any other power bi file?
If yes then what was the result?

Affan

Yes, I tried this and this happens to every .PBIX I try.

Another thing I did was reinstall Power BI Desktop, but that also did not solve the issue.

It has worked before by the way.

Regards.
