Hi All,
I have a situation where I create a report from Azure SQL Server in a private tenant then publish it to a different tenant into Power BI Pro and when I refresh the data it can not find the Azure SQL Server the data is in. The Server name for Azure SQL Server has the word public in it which I was told was important so I could reach over the internet from Power BI desktop.
My goal is to have a server name that works for both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Pro in the tenant so as not to force pubishing with a different server name.
I hope that makes sense.
Hi,
i Think this is a Problem with the Azure SQL Server Configuration.
Just Check
in Azure Portal under SQL Server. the Firewall & Security config.
Maybe it is only Accesible by Specifiy IP Adress range.

Hi,
We looked at this and it did not fix. The other thing is we are in the Microsoft Government tenant which might be the issue. We have filed a support ticket with them. I will update this when they give us the fix.
Many Thanks!
Hi, have you set up the data source credentials on the schedule refresh options in Power Bi Dataset?
Happy to help!
Thanks but the issue is the Azure SQL Server can not be found to begin with so credentials are not used yet.
