I need to understand the concept of a gateway.
I have multiple servers like Server1 where there are few databases and Server2 where there are few other databases. Should I have another server (i.e Server 3) where I will install gateway to load data from server1 and server2 and how much RAM should I have on it?
Note: Data is not so much right now and neither there are any complex DAX queries.

Hey @hitesh160790 ,
yes you should use a 3rd machine where you install the on-premises gateway, for a start I recommend 32 to 64GB of RAM, this depends on how the different databases will be used by the gateway, either direct query or import.
The document "Planning a Power BI Enterprise Deployment" that can be found here
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/whitepapers
also has some chapter about the gateway.
Regards,
Tom
