Power BI Desktop unresponsive

We are having issues with Power bi becoming unresponsive.  When it first loads the file, you can click around.. but if you go to say Excel and come back it will not respond to any mouse clicks.  In task manager, it looks like it is running and consuming system resources.  It happens on multiple files.


We have to go into taskmanager and delete the service to close it. 


Any work arouunds or a new version to fix this issue (using March 2020)

@synergised seems like machine specific issue, could you try on another machine. It is working fine at my end and I'm using March 2020

I didn't meet this issue currently. My Power BI Desktop version:  2.79.5768.721 64-bit (March 2020).

Please try to uninstall your Power BI Desktop and install the latest version: 2.79.5768.1082. Then, try to open your file again.

You can killed on the task manager and update power BI


I used to have the same problem but I did it in this way and was working for me.
