Power BI Desktop free - map visuals

Hello,

I use Power BI Desktop free version to publish to my own workspace.

After I published my report to the workspace, then login to powerbi.com to open my workspace, all is fine except my map visual.

I get the message: maps visuals aren’t enabled for your org.

This is just my personal, Microsoft 365 account; I am not connected with any organization.

Are map visuals created with that version not supposed to work with Power BI on the web, even within my own workspace?

Thank you.

HI @abaker77,

In fact, this is a configuration option on the power bi service side. The personal account also has corresponding tenants that are managed by the administrator.

If you want to have full configuration and management about using power bi features, you can create a trial tenant as the following video:

If it is your tenant, you can go to the Power BI Admin Portal and check these settings

I guess I wasn't as clear, in my question, as I thought I was.

I only have a Microsoft 365 Personal account; I am not connected with any business organization.

I downloaded Power BI Desktop - free version; that means I can create report visuals for publishing to my own personal workspace, which operate the same was as any Power BI license.  While the map visuals work just fine in the desktop app, I get the error "map visuals aren't enabled"

I HAVE no admin or tech support - like I said - I'm only using the Power BI Desktop free version with my Microsoft 365 Personal account.

Why can't map visuals published to my own workspace work properly?

Thank you.
