Power BI Desktop composite model with SAP BW Connector

Hi All

How the composite modesl is workig? Is there need some special option to enable (i know, that it is not preview feature, have the lastes PBI desktop). That i have found on interet looks like, there is nothing special to do to.

But I'm using a directquery with SAP BW connector. Is this somehow restricting or disabling composit model? I cannot go to transform data (power query), neither use Get data(excel workook, sql server....), everything is disabled(gray).

Thanks for help.

Tomas.

Hi  @tomas12344 ,

Composite models refer to:

Allows a report to have two or more data connections from different source groups, such as one or more DirectQuery connections and an import connection, two or more DirectQuery connections, or any combination thereof.

The SAP Business Warehouse data source has a limitation in power bi desktop:
When you connect to these multi-dimensional sources by using DirectQuery, you can't connect to another DirectQuery source or combine it with import data.

@tomas12344 , there is a long list of limitation, if you use that as a direct query
