Power BI Desktop - Sort the Tables using their alphabetical names in the "Fields" window

Hi,

As displayed in the screenshot below, the sorting order for table names in Power BI Desktop's "Fields" window is:

  1. Calculated Table, A-Z
  2. Normal Table, A-Z

Is it possible to sort the table names in their alphabetical order only

The issue is that our end-users are not technical and do not understand the difference between a calculated table and a normal table so they will continuously scroll up and down looking for tables that, for example, starts with "S".

Hi,

For your requirement, i have a workaround.

Here is my test sample:

2.PNG

Please try to add one blank column to each Measure table such as 'Sxxxxxx' in your screenshot:

Column = BLANK()

Then collapse and expand Field pane, it shows:

 3.PNG

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Giotto Zhi

To add to @MFelix  answer, bring in one dummy column for those tables and it will appear as Normal table.

Hi @jf_guertin,

You cannot change the order of the tables, you need to explain to your user that the first ones are the grouping of measures that why they have the calculator symbol the tables are the ones with the matrix simbol.

Also they can use the search bar to find the table they need.

But there is no option to change the tables order.

Miguel Félix
