Power BI Desktop September Update Pre-Login handshare error

Hi All,

 

I see that after September updated the connection from Power BI Desktop to SQL Server 2019 db is not working anymore. It gives the error below:

Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: HTTP Provider, error: 0 - )

 

The thing that bothers me the most that this is extremely critical issue, it actually freezes all development based on SQL Server 2019 database and it is not listed under Power BI support site (see screenshot below).

Maybe someone already found a solution? If not then request for Microsoft - please inform your users that corrupted version of Power BI desktop has been released in September.

Thanks for the update, it's good to have the issue formalized.

 

One question - is the date of fix 12 October or 10 December?

Hi, The issue has already been logged:

And you can see in the comments that there are many users with similar problem. Isn't it sufficient enough to put such information on Power BI Support site?
