Power BI Date format as "yyyymmdd"

Good day,

Please will you provide me solution for below challenge

I do have "Date" column in Calendar table / data set (Power BI generated Date table). I would like to create new date column in "Calendar" table / data set, the new column's DATA TYPE should be "Date" and the FORMAT should be "yyyymmdd"

Thank you

I dont think it is possbile to make "20180901" as a date type.

is it a solution to make 2 columns? 1 as a date type for calculation and  1 for displaying?

Hello,

If you go to the modeling tab, under format, you have yyyy-MM-dd, if that doesnt suit your needs, you could create a calculated column, and format([date],"yyyymmdd")

Regards,

Salva.

Hi Salva,

I tried it, the moment I use FORMAT('Calendar'[Date],"yyyymmyy") then the Data Type changes to "Text", any ideas?

Thank you
