Hi I was wondering if someone can help me I think I'm going mad.
I have a Line and clustered column chart where the data on the line refuses to display as a percentage. The original data in excel is formatted as a percentage:
When I imported the data I changed the data type to Percentage:
However when drag the data into the line values its displays as decimal:
and when I click show data the data is shown as a decimal:
I can't understand why it is doing this!!!
Thanks
Matt.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Go to the Modeling tab of the ribbon. Click on the column/measure. Click the little % button in the formatting area.
Hi. I've tried to do the same thing. But the "formating" tab is in grey no matter what I do. How can I get the formatting tab to work? Or any other ideas? Thank you!!!
Go to the Modeling tab of the ribbon. Click on the column/measure. Click the little % button in the formatting area.
Hi Greg, Thanks for the reply. I've tried that but when I click on the line the formatting section is greyed out and I can't make any changes:
Thanks
Matt.
AH HA!!! I clicked on the column field with the table and then it let me click on the % sign and the data changed!!
Thanks very much Greg you've saved what hair I have left.
Matt.
Can you only set the data format at the TABLE or DATA SOURCE level? What if I want to have the data displayed as a decimal in one chart and a percent in another chart? Is there a way to set the data format at the CHART level in Power BI?
Always happy to help someone save their hair! As I age, hopefully this will translate into positive hair karma for me!
