# Percent of group total by another total

[ Edited ]

I have below data and I have created simple table visualization in Power BI.

 ID status Range 1 C 730 2 D 650 3 D 690 4 P 690 5 C 690 6 C 710 7 D 750 8 C 650 9 C 690 10 D 690 11 C 770 12 C 690 13 D 690 14 C 730 15 C 710 16 C 650 17 P 650 18 C 670 19 3 670 20 P 770

When the user clicks on any status in table 1, I want to find Percent total from the whole dataset which is 20 records.

i.e. User clicks on D result should display total records with Status D in that range/ total records in that range.

For 650 range there are 4 records and one record is with Status D, so 650 --- 25%(1/4)

What is the best way to achieve this?

 Range Percent of D records 650 25.00% 690 42.86% 750 100.00%

Hi @ksangha,

How do you get for Range 750, 100% and 42.86% for range 690 when selecting D?

Let me know and i can give it a try.

@ksangha Can you explain the calculation for those numbers 25%, 42.86% and 100%?

There are 4 records in Range 650 and one record is Status D, so for 650, 1/4=25%.
