I am trying to figure out how to calculate the percent change in expense quarter to quarter for a data set similar to the one below
Firm | Quarter | Expense |
Firm A | 2017 Q3 | 100 |
Firm A | 2017 Q4 | 200 |
Firm A | 2018 Q1 | 300 |
Firm B | 2017 Q3 | 50 |
Firm B | 2017 Q2 | 150 |
Firm B | 2018 Q1 | 200 |
Basically now that Q1 is over, I would want to know the percent change by firm from Q4 to Q1. I have wracked my brain and haven't come up with any good solutions. I have a calendar table set up, but am having a hard time dynamically calling on the previous 2 quarters.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
